Esther v Ryanair
A professional violinist said Ryanair refused to let her board with her priceless instrument, forcing her to book a last-minute flight with another carrier. A lot of passengers bring equipment they need for work aboard flights — laptops, cellphones, notepads. But when professional musician Esther Abrami brings hers on an airplane — a violin made in the 19th century by Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume — she’s carrying a precious artifact. “The violin is a piece of art,” she told The Wa

Postcards from Worcester Cathedral book
I have recently been undertaking the creation of a book for St Davids Cathedral highlighting all the interesting aspects of the building and contents. It occurred to me that I already had the same image content for Worcester Cathedral due to me supplying them with photo products for the last 8 years. So this week I delivered my new book to Helen in the cathedral shop. And after Postcards from Shropshire is completed I intend visiting Hereford Cathedral and Gloucester Cathedra

"Postcards from St Davids Cathedral " book
So having been invited by Colleen (shop manager) from St Davids to put together a book of images I recently spent two days onsite attempting to get as many images as I could. Also taking images with the iPhone which I would return to St Davids to take properly. Great help was given by Chris the Deans Verger which resulted in a rare lit up cathedral

The maps have been changed to reflect the county towns and cities and the images have been re-selected to enhace the postcard values. The front cover has also been changed to show its a revised edition

Grace Shepherd Website
Great to work with Grace and to help put in place a website which will enable her to project her image, her music and availability to perform at any venue. Needed some headshot images which were taken recently to ensure the website had up-to-date images and is now good to go.

Right Artist Wrong Lens
Taking photos of soloists during a concert is a hit and miss affair when you don't know when the soloist is going to perform. Let's take the concert in Gloucester Cathedral last weekend as an example. Dame Sarah Connolly was singing' who I have never photographed previously at the end of the first half but I didn't know when exactly so instead of having my 400mm lens with me I left it behind while getting some wide shots of the choir. So I only had the 70-210mm lens with me.
