On this website you will see that Michael has photographed International and Premier League rugby, Premier League football, Worcestershire cricket, T20 cricket, rowing and motor sports under the SPORTS banner with many being used by national press.
Michael is now mainly a landscape photographer and is seen all over Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire snapping images to use in his calendars, greeting cards, postcards, jigsaws and even fridge magnets. The POSTCARD section is where you can see the full catalogue of images.
However, the experience gained in professional rugby and football events have been transferred onto the classical concert scene. This being able to anticipate events and process images quickly. So now Michael has reinvented himself as a classical music concert photographer.
Michael has become one of the most sought photographers to cover classical music concerts especially those held in Hereford, Worcester and Gloucester Cathedrals by the incumbent Choral Societies.
This has led to Michael being appointed the photographer of choice for the Three Choirs Festival for the past three years. The 2019 festival in Gloucester included sixty-two events over an eight day period.
The concert reviewers appreciating Michaels speedy availability of images much like the national newspapers did for his sports photos, meant they could complete the reviews of the previous nights showpiece concert first thing next morning.
Classical music concert photography requires an appreciation of the event, location, participants and above all discretion during the performance so the audience don't know I'm there.
To this end an investment in Sony mirrorless kit which makes no shutter noise at all has been made (as the camera doesn't have a shutter) meaning photos can be taken even in the softest musical times.
You can see Michaels work at the classical music concerts in the CLASSICAL MUSIC section.
